About GEAN

Geothermal Energy Association of Norway - GEAN

GEAN got its re-branding during the GeoEnergy Conference 2023 where the former Centre for Geothermal Energy Research CGER changed its name and purpose. GEAN is serving as a central hub for collaboration and research on geothermal energy in Norway for almost 15 years. The name-change was done to better reflect its core mission and diversity of its partners enabling us to better represent the whole sector.

GEAN partners act across the whole range of activities of the geothermal energy sector: operations, manufacturing, service, consultancy, education and research. Through their involvement in GEAN, they are committed to collaborate and build a platform which promotes geothermal energy in Norway, strengthens national cooperation and serves as catalyst for research and technology development.
